New pricing 🤑
We are officially announcing new and lower pricing for both monthly and annual subscriptions! Starting today we dropped the monthly subscription price from $9.99 to $7.99 and the annual subscription from $99.99 to $79.99, check out the new table here. This cutdown was made possible due to behind-the-scenes changes and optimizations to make our service even more attractive.
macOS Version
As you may recall from earlier posts, our initial plan was to use project Catalyst, available in the new macOS Catalina, to port our iOS app to the Mac. Unfortunately, we ran into some technical problems with Catalyst, so we decided to go old-school and simply use macOS's native AppKit to build a more fluid and compatible app. There are two main benefits from this decision:
- Older macOS compatibility: By using AppKit instead of Catalyst we are able to support macOS versions prior to Catalina, which wouldn't be possible if we used Catalyst.
- Native UI: Some ported apps from iOS to macOS are, at least in this first version, weird and lacking proper controls to use in a computer with a keyboard and a mouse (have you seen Twitter ?), so a nice benefit is a mac-centric user interface with standard controls and elements.
We don't have an exact date yet but the macOS version will be released soon, check out a preview below:
iOS app update
The latest version 1.3.3 is already available to download on the AppStore and this update includes:
- Updated VPN profile configuration with improved cryptographic and hashing algorithms.
- Blocked and unblocked sites are now syncing with remote server.
- Fixed a bug where the Web Filter change log view wouldn't display the text.
- Added support for cross-platform subscriptions (will be useful once the macOS version is released!).
