Welcome to the family, Android
It's no secret that we have been working on an Android version for a few months now, and today we are happy to announce it has been officially released: You can get it from Google Play on any Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later. The app is very similar to the iOS version, take a look at the main screen below:
Not only the looks are very close, we worked hard to deliver the same experience, such as:
- Servers: Android will use the same servers located in the US (Oregon) and Brazil (SP).
- Always-on: Right on the main screen, you can click on 'Always-on VPN' and the app will take you to your Android configuration where, as long as your device is compatible, you can enable the option which will make your device always use the VPN connection, enhancing your protection even further.
- Web Filter: A log of everything the Web Filter blocks is available in the 'Alerts' tab, which you can also use to unblock a hostname if you desire.
- Custom lists: You have the option of adding custom hostnames for Web Filter to block or unblock by going into the 'More' tab and scrolling down to 'Blocked Sites' and 'Unblocked Sites'.
Pricing and subscriptions
The subscriptions options and prices remain the same for Android, as well as the (lack of) registration. In a very similar fashion to AppStore on iOS, we use Google Play to handle all the billing and subscription management on Android, which means we get no personal user information from any of our customers. We take privacy very seriously and this is our way of ensuring users they are unidentified in our network. Oh and as usual, you can download the app in multiple devices with a single purchase, as long as they share the same Google Play account configured.
