Client for macOS now available
For everyone who's been following us this comes as no surprise, but the wait for a macOS version is over! Go ahead and download it from the AppStore. The Mac version has all the features available in iOS, with the exception of PUSH notifications which are only available on iOS for now. All the other features such as switching between countries, alerts list, trackers and threats protection and also custom block lists are all part of the macOS 1.0 release. And as we mentioned before, it is possible to share the same subscription you already have on iOS with the Mac, without any additional cost!
Subscription Sharing
It's good to remember that the solution for subscription sharing between different platforms (iOS and macOS) is proprietary and depends on your iCloud configuration. You can check whether you can share your subscription from inside the app in More > Sharing, where there are 2 possible status:
- Enabled: Your iCloud configuration is already correct and you can use the same license in multiple iOS and macOS devices, just make sure you're using the same iCloud account.
- Restricted: It's possible to share your subscription between devices from the same platform, but not between different platforms such as iOS and macOS. This happens when iCloud/iCloud Drive is disabled, check out below how to enable it:
- iOS: Enable iCloud Drive: Settings > iCloud Account > iCloud > iCloud Drive;
- macOS: Enable iCloud Drive: System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud Drive;
